The next chapter of our travel plans. Well…as I thought, the recovery from my foot operation has been over 4 months plus now, giving me plenty of time on my hands to come to the conclusion that day time TV sucks just as much as the evening!
I didn’t know this!
Now for the good news. We have had an offer on our house, and are in the process of buying a bungalow on the South coast in Brixham Devon. It’s just perfect, and can’t believe how lucky we are to be able to call this location home. It’s a beautiful part of the country, and can see us getting involved in everything it has to offer. Happy days.

The next chapter
We should move in by the end of March. After a quick make over and renovations, we should have it ready to rent out by the end of October. Fingers crossed! This will tie in with our new plans as we’re behind schedule on our initial globe trotting. This was scheduled to start in November 2018, but hey, it’s finally happening.

New start – New plans
When we’ve moved into our new habitat and scout the local area our aim is to get fit. A few months of some rehabilitation work and raising our fitness levels are on the cards. Being based 10 minutes from 3 coastlines all on the South-West coastal path should be good training. We have decided to take on the next challenge before we head off on our 5 year journey.
We’re hoping to be heading off to France in September for 5 weeks. It’s then 500 miles walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela.
This starts in the Foothills of the Pyrenees in the town of Saint Jean Pied de Port. It’s then across the mountain range through the Basque country to Santiago in Northern Spain. It’s a popular pilgrim trail for Hikers and has been on our list forever. This should take us until October when we’ll then get our property on the rental market ready for India.

Future highlights
Our future plans are to travel the world for 3-5 years. This will include various destinations in North and South India, Nepal, Vietnam, the Philippines and more of Thailand.
Our route will take us through China and more of Malaysia and Indonesia. We’ll eventually be heading on our way to exploring Australia and New Zealand.
We’re also hoping to go through Hawaii on our way back to the United States. This then leads us to finally get to do our dream of Santa Monica to Chicago on route 66.
This blog will then be our journal of these travels. We will be updating regularly for family, friends and readers to follow us on this journey.
It’s exciting times for both of us and we will endeavor to update with photo/video blogs along the way.
