The countdown begins to our next adventure, with a little over 3 months before we depart for India for 3 to 5 years of travel.
It’s time to start getting excited. We can’t wait to get on the road!
We’re Initially basing ourselves in South Goa in Southern India, and the plan is we’ll rent a property for 6 months from October to April in & around Palolem. We’ll use this as our base and Once settled, we’ll get through the Christmas holidays. We can then head off and explore more of the state in the New Year towards the end of January.
We’ve already done about 50 miles of South Goa on previous trips so Northern Goa beckons with a few new places to explore including Arambol, Anjuna, Vagator & Morjim.
We also have a few side trips up in Northern India planned including Dharamshala, the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. Amritsar & the Golden Temple and Jaipur the capital of India’s Rajasthan state also known as the Pink City. We also want to squeeze in a train journey to Shimla that’s on the “must visit” list. With lots of other destinations to explore our time will be maxed out to get through what we want to achieve. So excited as these have been on our radar for a few years.

The countdown begins
Our time will be used wisely as the end of April it’s then Monsoon season in India. This begins around the end of April/May. It’s a good time to get out of dodge and to head off to Bangkok Thailand. It’s the gateway to all of Asia, and with Air Asia‘s cheap flights, a great base for onward travel. From here we can then follow the weather.
We’ll then have 6 months with our rucksacks to explore wherever we wish to. We’re open to anywhere including China, Australia, New Zealand and beyond. We’ll wing it for the first year and are open to any destinations available. We plan on travelling through other countries and then returning though Nepal into Northern India. After exporing more of this region we’ll continue our travels back to South Goa late October.

An update to where we are
Recently we haven’t been up to much on the Social Media front as we have recently moved down from Hertfordshire to Brixham in Devon. We have been busy updating the property to get it “rent ready” as this will be part funding our extended travels. Most of our time has been spent on getting our new home up to standard. More on that HERE
Next up is renewing our passports for another 10 years. Then by September we’ll be applying for our 5 year India visa’s. This means we don’t have to come back to the UK until we’re ready to.

When that is is still up in the air, as we have so many plans. There’s so many places to visit and this grows daily. Hence the 3-5 years of travel, and who knows, this could be longer?
Just got news on our Visa to India, and have 2 options. One to go back to London or go to Cardiff. We’re looking into what’s the cheapest option with all the bio-metrics they want these days.
We’ll be updating the blog as we get closer to the off date. Keep up to date in following the journey with us. Give us a like on Facebook or you can also follow us on twitter
