One of my favourite books, The Lost City of Z is hitting the cinema’s in April this year. It’s based on the true story of British explorer Percival Fawcett’s adventure into the Amazon and his quest to find the fabled ancient lost city. The book was written by David Grann.

The Lost City of Z film stars Charlie Hunnam as Percy Fawcett and Robert Pattinson as explorer Henry Costin. It follows Fawcett’s numerous attempts to locate an ancient city hidden within the Amazon. Along with his Son they were tragically never seen again.
David Grann
If the film is anywhere near the quality of David Grann’s 2009 book, we should be in for a real gem. It really gives an insight of what adventure travel was like in the early 19th century.
