Khao San Road is it’s central hub for the pilgrimage of worldwide backpackers who adorn the area. It’s blend of cheap accommodation options ranging from hostels to higher end boutique hotels appeals to the masses.

Khao San Road is located half a mile from the must see attractions. These include the Grand Palace and the major temples of Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho and Wat Arun.  Global travellers have besieged this area of Banglamphu for manay years.

Onward travel

The area is also a travel hub for onward travel to Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Vietnam. There are various travel agents arranging Visa’s and coaches to these and all major destinations across Thailand, be it North to Chiang Mai or to the Islands based in the south. Try to barter hard to grab a bargain.

Getting around locally is easiest by Tuk Tuk’s, using the river taxi’s or the BTS skytrain or MRT underground. There is also an elevated Rail link to the airports.
